SSH and VNC setup guides

How the current AnyPane app connects. These are setup notes, not customer stories.

AnyPane does not provide servers, desktops, or accounts. You need iOS/iPadOS 17 or macOS 15, plus an SSH server or VNC desktop you are authorized to reach. Saved connections can be reused across workspaces; each workspace keeps its own sessions.

Reach a target through one SSH jump host

Use a saved direct SSH connection as a single jump host. Chained jump hosts are not supported.

Keep a VNC desktop on an SSH session

Prefer an SSH tunnel for VNC. Direct VNC is not encrypted, and TLS is not supported.

Open a loopback-only local port forward

Reach a service through SSH from a port on your own device. Remote forwarding and SOCKS proxies are not supported.
